Elena started dancing at the age of two in West Des Moines, IA where her love of ballet started. She had several performance opportunities as part of the Iowa Dance Theatre including the Nutcracker where she danced several roles ranging from Flowers and Snow to Rat Queen. She also performed in Firebird, Peter Pan, and Snow White. She continued studying dance and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Stephens College in Columbia, MO where she continued to diversify her dancing to include modern, contemporary, and several world dance styles. Elena was a member of the pre-professional Dance Collaborations Company during this
time. After college Elena moved to St. Louis, making it her home over the past 13 years including starting her family here. While in St. Louis, Elena has continued studying dance with Missouri Ballet Theater and St. Louis Ballet, where she had the opportunity to perform in the Nutcracker, Cinderella, and La Bayadere. Currently, Elena dances alongside Ballet 314 and has performed in the Nutcracker and the World’s Fair as a Hungarian and Flower. Elena’s most recent achievement has been earning her Master of Arts in Applied Learning and Instruction from the University of Central Florida. Some of Elena’s favorite variations she has performed are Generosity Fairy from Sleeping Beauty, Queen of the Dryads from Don Quixote, and Medora’s Grand Pas de Deux from Le Corsaire.
