Alyssa Kendrick is thrilled to start her first season with RJ’s! Alyssa was born and raised in St. Louis and danced competitively at Renee Johnson’s Chesterfield for twelve years. After graduating high school, Alyssa pursued a degree in dance, receiving her Bachelors of Fine Arts and a minor in Applied Behavioral Science from the University of Kansas in 2022. During her time at the University of Kansas, Alyssa performed in five University Dance Company shows. She was fortunate to learn repertoire from Gabrielle Lamb’s “Tessellations” and Jerel Hilding’s “Gitanas”. Alyssa also had the opportunity to perform in original pieces such as Waeli Wang’s “Trammel”, which also was awarded Semi-Finalist for Best Dance Film, AltFF Alternative Film Festival in 2021. During her time in Kansas, Alyssa also performed at the Gem Theater in Kansas City during the Modern Night at the Gem in 2022. After graduating from The University of Kansas, Alyssa moved to New York City where she danced for Linda Diamond in the Woodstock Summer Dance Festival in 2023. After her year in NYC, Alyssa moved back to St. Louis where she began her Masters of Clinical Social Work at St. Louis University. Alyssa also works for the St. Louis County Family Court and is an intern at a therapeutic preschool.
